What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Name and email address for the purpose of newsletters, but we require positive consent.

Personal data is not just created by your interactions with our site. Personal data is also generated from technical processes such as contact forms, cookies, analytics, and third-party embeds such as Google Analytics and social media

By default WordPress does not collect any personal data about visitors. However some of our plugins may collect personal data such as on-line giving platforms used by our website.

Operation Restoration is grateful for your support and we are committed to keeping your data safe.  Our website and data management system are both securely hosted on encrypted cloud-based servers in the United Kingdom and the United States, primarily because we have UK trustees and US board members who volunteer their time to help keep everything up-to-date.  We have an official confidentiality and ethics policy, which all trustees and board members are required to sign and adhere to.   When you choose to support Operation Restoration financially, the various payment processing companies (e.g. Stripe, PayPal UK, and US etc.) that we use are not authorized by us to use or disclose the information except as necessary to perform services on our behalf or to comply with legal requirements. The personal information you provide is only used to contact you with information related to your donation. For example, you will receive a payment confirmation email, thank you letters, end-of-year tax receipts (for U.S. donors), and you will be notified about any account issues.   On our website, when you click ‘Yes’ to allowing cookies (small snippets of text that tell us about your visit, but with no personal information – it is anonymous, aggregate data that tells us how people are using the site) this simply enables us to analyze our website using Google Analytics in our ongoing mission to improve it.  This information is based on your IP address; it does not contain any personal data.   Either on our website or in our emails, when you click to subscribe to our mailing list, you are simply giving us permission to send you electronic news, updates, prayer requests, and of course, requests for financial support.   When we ask for your mailing address, this is simply so we know where our supporters are from – we have friends and donors from literally all over the world.  This is especially helpful when we are organizing events, whether in-person or virtual.   We only collect the information that you give to us; we never use third-party sources of data, and we never have nor will we ever sell or trade the data we hold.   No matter where you reside, you have the right to ask us what personal information we have.  If you wish to change your privacy preferences, including the removal of your name and contact information from our mailing lists, please email us at oprest@ywambolivia.com and we will get in touch promptly.
